Filipe Monteiro of Connecticut: Small Business Owner

Filipe Monteiro of Connecticut is a business owner serving the tristate area. For over a decade Monteiro has been the owner and operator of Monteiro’s Masonry Construction.

Before moving to the US in his early twenties, Monteiro lived in Portugal. However, it didn’t take long for Monteiro to build a successful business career in Connecticut. He first went to work in building and construction in order to learn the trade. From there, Monteiro studied English, quickly gaining a proficiency in the language. With skills in the trade and newly learned business acumen, he opened Monteiro’s Masonry Construction in his mid-twenties.

In the highly decentralized market of Masonry, Monteiro has seen success. He works with clients in both residential and commercial properties and has expertise working with many different kinds of materials. “I use brick and building stone such as marble, granite, travertine, limestone, cast stone, concrete block, glass block and cob.”

The hands-on, artistic trade of Masonry has paid off. “In 2010,” says Monteiro, “I became a real estate investor in the Bridgeport area.” When he is not working, Filipe Monteiro of Connecticut lives in Milford with his dog Brooklyn.
